Title
A Good Strong Knot
Artist
Mary C Farrenkopf
Medium
Painting - Encaustic On Deep Cradled Birch
Description
Number Two in my series of balancing or suspended eggs in encaustic. This piece incorporates some of the sculptural elements of beeswax that I love. The Red Tail Hawk's egg and fish hook are worked in relief. There is a certain Zen in these images, a fragility, a suspension of belief that must occur. Perhaps even a holding of one's breath as you wait to see if the egg will fall.

To me Eggs represent the birthing process and a part of a life support system, both of them are a part of the flow of life onto this stage we paint upon (More … http://paintedstage.com/dream.html) . The hook (we all gota have one) represents trying grasp on / capture the bigger or more elusive catch (inspiration or food food for the sole) I hope you catch a big one…Will

I love your interpretation. This is one of my favorite things about art. What means one thing to me may mean something entirely different to someone else.

Tempting bait, just don`t move and you may catch a big one.

hahahaha, yes indeed. I'm working up more in this series, so stay tuned for more eggs put in odd positions.... ;)
