Artist's Description

Encaustic is an ancient medium that has recently experienced quite the revival! Paint is made by combining Beeswax and Damar Resin and melting it together. The Spoon, Eggs, Thread and the antique Hatpin are all worked in relief.
A Red Winged Blackbird's egg and a Western Meadowlark's egg balanced precariously on a teaspoon, suspended by a thin line of bright red thread attached by an antique hatpin.
